4월 날이 따뜻했던 주말 계백장군유적지를 방문하게 되었다 

 

벚꽃 만개시기가 한창이던 그때 벚꽃 로드가 예뻐 들어가게 된 곳이었는데 알고 보니 계백장군유적지로 향하는 길이었다 

 

계백장군유적지에 대한 정보 없이 발견하고 방문해서 반가웠다

 

아이 손잡고 넓은 부지를 하나씩 하나씩 클리어 하며 둘러본 후기를 남겨보고자 한다

? 계백장군유적지 (충청남도지정 기념물)

 

 

계백장군은 의자왕 대에 성충, 흥수와 함께 백제의 3충신 중 한 명으로 백제 역사에서 충절을 상징하는 대표적인 인물이다

의자왕 20년(660년) 신라와 당나라 연합군이 백제의 사비도성으로 쳐들어 왔을 때, 계백장군은 결사대 5천여명을 이끌고 황산벌에 나아가 신라군 5만여명에 맞서 최후의 결전을 벌였다 

백제군은 지형이 험난한 요충지 세곳에 진을 치고 신라군과 네 번 싸워 모두 승리하였다  그러나 화랑 관창등의 죽음으로 전의를 가다듬은 신라군의 공격에 백제군은 수적인 열세를 극복하지 못하고 패배하였으며 계백장군도 장렬하게 전사하였다 

논산시는 계백장군과 5천 결사대의 거룩한 뜻을 기리고 후손에게 올바른 국가관과 호국정신을 계승하기 위하여 1990년 이후 계백장군유적지 성역화사업을 추진해 오고 있다

유적지 내에는 계백장군 묘소와 계백장군 사당인 충장사가 있으며 문화교육공간으로 백제군사박물관과 야외체험장 등이 자리 잡고 있다 

 

 

The Remained Place of General Gyebaek's Triumph (Chungcheongnam-do's Monument)

 

General Gyebaek was one of the three great loyal subjects of Baekje, an ancient Korean kingdom, together with Seongchung and Heungsu under the reign of King Euija

He is a representative symbol of loyalty and integrity in the history of Baekje  On hearing that the 50,000 coalition troops of Silla was invanding Sabi Fortress in the 20th year of king Euija's reign(in 600)

General Gyebaek led a death-defying corps of about 5,000 soldiers rugged positions, defeated Silla troops in four battles as they were so brave and ready to die

However, due to high morale raised by death of Gwanchang one of the flowers of youth in Silla(who excelled in beauty, bravery and military arts) and Baekje troops inferiority in numvbers

General Gyebaek died a heroic death fighting to the last ditch and Baekje troops lost the fifth battle

The sanctification project of General Gyebaek's Tomb Area has been carried out since 1990's to pay tribute to the noble spirit of General Gyebaek and transmit the right patriotic sentiment and the country defending spirit to posterity

There is the General Gyebaek's tomb and General Gyebaek's portrait is enshrined in Chungjangsa(shrine)

Baekje's Military Museum and the Outdoor Experience Area are being used as cultural and educational spaces

 

 

 

? 황산벌 전투도

 

 

황산벌전투는 660년 7월의 무더위 속에서 백제와 신라가 이곳 황산벌(지금의 연산면 신앙리 일원)에서 벌인 전투이다  660년 신라와 당은 군사동맹을 맺어 백제를 침략하였다  김유신이 이끄는 신라군 5만은 탄현을 넘어 황산벌로 진군하였다  의자왕은 계백장군에게 5천여 명의 결사대를 주어 이를 막게 하였다  계백장군은 가족을 죽인 뒤 비장한 각오로 출전, 황산벌에 먼저 도착하여 3곳에 진영을 설치하였다  백제 결사대는 3갈래로 나뉘어 진격하는 신라군을 맞아 4번을 싸워 4번 모두 이기는 성과를 올렸다  그러나 백제군은 수적 열세를 끝내 극복하지 못하고 패배하였고, 계백장군은 장렬히 전사하였다  황산벌 일대에는 지리적 요충지에 황령산성, 산직리산성, 신흥리산성, 청동리산성, 외성리산성, 황산성 등이 분포하고 있다  산직리산성 아래에는 신라군과 싸워 승리했다고 하는 승적골이란 지명이 지금도 남아 있다  계백장군유적지는 백제의 유민들이 계백장군의 시신을 가매장 했다 하여 가장골로 불리는 곳으로 계백장군 묘소, 계백장군 사당인 충장사 및 백제군사박물관이 세워져 있다  또한 인근 부적면 충곡리에는 계백장군을 현재도 제향하는 충곡서원이 자리하고 있다 

황산벌 전투로 백제는 멸망하였으나 계백장군과 5천 결사대는 충절과 호국의 표상으로 영원히 기억되고 있다 

 

 

The battle of Hwangsanbeol, fought in a scorching summer of July in 660 AD here at Hwangsan field, is a fierce fight between Baekje and Shilla, In 660, Shilla had meetings with Tang Dynasty of China and offered military alliances

Empowered by the number and forces of Tang soldiers, Shilla mapped out its military operations to invade Sabidoseong, the fortrees in the Baekje's capital area

50,000 troops of Shilla, commanded by General Kim Yu-sin, launched its military action to move over Tanhyeon and advanced onto Hwangsanbeol, what is now Shinyang-ri Yeonsan-myeon the open field facing the board  Baekje's King Uija, dispatching 5,000 troops of the highest morals and courage ordered General Gyebaek to fight back against Na-Tang United Army 

General Gyebaek, who had such a heroic resolve, killed his wife and children  Then, he bravely headed onto Hwangsanbeol and set up three military camps 

Baekje'a troops fought against the United Army four times and defeated them in every battle even though Shilla deployed different tactics by dividing its troops into three different branches

However, Baekje lost the battle since they were far inferior to Shilla in numbers

After all, Baekje and his men met their glorious deaths here in Hwangsanbeol

 

Around this memorable arena, strategically placed are a lot of hill fortresses Hwangnyeong Sasnseong, Sanjik-ri Sanseong, Sinheung-ri Sanseong, cheongdong-ri Sanseong, Oeseong-ri Sanseong  At the foot of Sanjik-ri Sanseong, three still remains a village called Seungjeok-gol, which commemorates the victory in the battle with Shilla in the neighboring town  Bujeok-myeon, there is a site now called Gajang-gol where refugees from the battle buried General Gyebaek, Currently, the tomb of General Gyebaek stands here with Baekje Millitary Museum

 

Baekje could not avoid a tragic ending due the battle of Hwangsanbeol  However, General Gyebaek and his 5,000 death-defying soldiers are still remembered for their unswerving loyalty and as emblem of undying partriotism for their country

1989년 12월 29일 충청남도 기념물 제 74호로 지정

 

계백의 충성어린 죽음을 본 백제 유민들이 장군의 시신을 거두어 은밀하게 가매장한 것으로 전해진다  그 후 백제의 유민들과 묘소 인근마을 주민을 중심으로 묘제를 지내오던 관행이 이어져 오다가 1680년(숙종6)에 계백의 위패를 주향으로 모신 충곡서원을 건립하고 향사를 지내왔다  근래에 이르러 본격적인 고증작업을 하게 되었다 

 

 

 

▶ 계백장군사당 충장사

 

 

백제말 위기에 처한 조국의 운명을 구하기 위해 5천 결사대와 함께 황산벌에서 신라군과 싸우다 전사한 충절의 표상이신 백제 충신 계백장군의 위패와 영정을 모신 사당이며, 위패에는 백제충신계백장군이라고 적혀있고 충장사에 안치된 영정은 문화재정에 등록된 계백장군의 유일한 표준영정이다

또한 충장사는 출입구와 사당에 이르는 길이 각각 세개의 문과 길로 되어있는데 이는 삼문삼도라 하여 궁궐이나 종묘사원등의 건축에서 볼 수 있는 독특한 양식이다

충혼공원은 계백장군 및 오천 결사대를 가리는 상징조형물을 건립하였고 관람객들에게 계백충의 정신을 함양 및 역사교육의 장으로 활용

계백장군유적지 넓은 부지에 감탄사가 절로 나온다 전체를 돌아보려니 꽤 많은 시간이 소요됐다 

 

넓은 잔디밭으로 되어 있어 아이와 뛰고 걷기에도 염려없이 거닐 수 있었다 

 

아이와 함께 볼거리, 체험할 거리가 가득해서 온종일 시간을 보낼 수 있는 재미가 충만했다 

 

 

4월 어느날 들어가는 진입로에 벚꽃이 한창 만개일 때라 입구에 잠시 주차하고 사진 찍는 사람들도 많았다 

 

벚꽃로드가 꽤 길고 예뻐 멀리가지 않아도 벚꽃구경을 할 수 있을 정도였다 

 

앞으로 날이 좋아질수록 초록초록한 매력을 더 느낄 수 있는 계백장군 유적지를 아이와 함께 방문해 보길 추천한다
